Will we see an attendance improvement this season?

Fandom isn’t black and white or yes and no.

Some fans are less fanatical than others but they’re still fans.

It’s this kind of attitude that kills Houston sports. We might win the B12 for the first time ever but our B12 home games aren’t attractive enough? Get outta here with that entitled crap. If Houston fans can’t get up for games like Houston vs Baylor or Houston vs Oklahoma State or former AAC foes Cincinatti and UCF then we stink as fans. Schools that have no business competing against us like Tx State and UTSA can draw 40k plus when they play each other but people can’t show up for Houston vs Baylor. Would not be a good sign

They aren’t fans. Get that through that dense cranium.

And this is why Eddie and others around the program need to be putting in work. Eddie seemed to be working his butt off towards the end of last season when people were all over him but IMO the program had been awfully quiet in all aspects for months now again. They fumbled the spring game too which not only should have been at TDECU but should have been used as a big push to remind fans to buy, add and renew season tickets

I know way too many Houston fans that live in Houston, love the team and are informed yet watch more games than not at home. Got to give people a reason to go.

Did I write anything, yes anything that belittle our attendance? The answer will be no.

Whether I was writing or speaking I tried to make it interesting by using colorful metaphors; If you want an appropriate metaphor for my University of Houston we saw it on May 2 of this year in Louisville Ky. When the race started the odds against Golden Melody was 26-1. For the longest time he was dead last but with an amazing burst of speed he whiped out the field and came in first. That is U of H Football today

You will probably be dead before anything changes with our fans lol

Short answer: Yes. The Texas Bowl was big for us. Great game in the local spotlight that brought out tons of alums that hadn’t been to a game all season. A percentage of those will venture out to TDECU. Think basketball circa first few years of Fertitta Center.

To sustain this momentum, we need to win some early games in fairly entertaining fashion, which I think we will.

Nope. Answer is no

Yes those schools are small, yes those schools are in lesser conferences but size plays a very small roll. We are the third largest school in TEXAS! Those other schools have school spirit and are motivated to support their school, both students and alumni. You can make the excuse they do not have pro sports, but that is weak. In a city of 7 million with over half a million alumni and over 40K students, selling out TDECU should not be a problem. But as I have said before Dr. Khator is setting a new bar at UH and raising the standard, 100 years is 6 months away and you can feel the change coming for UH. The bright light Jim Nantz always talks about.

You tell 'em Jim ! I believe we will have an increase in attendance. Why? We have recruited heavily in the local region and those friends and families are coming to see their sons play. Plus,we are going to have some fun home games.

Hey, I know this one!! When I was @ UH, the admin didn’t give a hoot if students went to games or not, and it was painfully obvious. Back in the 'Dome days the ticket books were so insulting I gave my tix away and worked instead.

Any feedback on season tickets sales?

What’s up Johnny!

I was about to put out a wellness check on you…
